# Quality testing

Tests are run in-house and at SGS against physical durability protocols for luggage, cross-referenced to ISO 9227 / ASTM B117 (salt spray) and ISO 6506 / ASTM E10 (Brinell hardness). We do not cite Chinese domestic light-industry standard numbers (`QB/T`, `GB/T`) — they are not the reference our buyers work to.

## Mechanical tests

| Test | Method | Result |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Wheel walking — 2 wheels | 8 km on concrete drum + 4 km on ribbed conveyor | Pass |
| Wheel walking — 4 wheels | 8 km + 2 km + 2 km, wear ≤ 2 mm | Pass |
| Stair drop, loaded | 25 consecutive 200 mm steps | Pass |
| Drop test, ambient | 900 mm onto solid carbon steel impact plate at 18–25 °C | Pass |
| Drop test, low temperature | 90 cm after 4 h at −12 °C | Pass |
| Load holding | Continuous 4 h static load — 40 kg for 535–660 mm bodies, 60 kg for 685–835 mm bodies | Pass |
| Salt spray | 16 h neutral salt spray (ISO 9227 / ASTM B117); ≤ 3 corrosion points, each ≤ 1 mm² | Pass |
| Frame hardness | Aluminium frame anodising 10–12 μm; body mouth Brinell hardness ≥ 40 HWB (ISO 6506 / ASTM E10) | Pass |
| Zipper reciprocation | Cycle count | **To be confirmed** |

> **One number is still open**
>
> Zipper reciprocation cycles are not yet fixed, so no zipper cycle report is issued. Everything else in the table above has a protocol behind it.

## Inspection

Incoming material inspection (IQC), in-line patrol inspection (IPQC), and pre-shipment inspection before cartoning (OQC / AQL). AQL level to be stated on the inspection report for your order.

## Certificates and reports — what we hold

| Item | Status |
| --- | --- |
| SGS physical durability | **Sample report.** It is a report on a sample, not a certification. We will not describe it as one. |
| ISO 9001 | **In registration.** No certificate number yet, so we do not claim to hold it. |
| BSCI / SMETA | Not held |
| ISTA 3A transport packaging | Not held |
| Certificate of origin | Yes — COO / SKA: Form D, Form E, RCEP, IJEPA, ICO |

## Certificates that do not apply

Buyers get shown these often. For luggage they are either inapplicable or simply do not exist, and a supplier who offers them is telling you something.

- **CE marking** — no harmonised regulation covers luggage. Applying it is misleading.
- **UKCA** — out of scope for luggage.
- **EN 17278** — that number is for natural gas vehicle fuelling equipment. Unrelated to luggage.
- **"CPSC certification"** — the United States has no federal mandatory luggage standard and no such certification.
- **Australian mandatory standard on elastic luggage straps** — it covers straps and elastic cords, not cases.
- **EUDR** — leather is out of scope and wood packaging used purely as a carrier is explicitly excluded.
- **CBAM** — CN 4202 luggage is not in scope. We keep aluminium and steel component weight and supplier data on file in case that changes.
- **Mandatory SNI for luggage in Indonesia** — we have seen no mandatory scheme; we are not aware of one and will not claim one.
- **ISO/IEC 17025 lab accreditation** — buyers ask for third-party testing, not an accredited in-house lab.
- **ISO 27001, SA8000, CDP, Better Work Indonesia** — not required at our size and sector.
